Retire Your Ride is a network designed to make it easy and rewarding for Canadians to retire their cars and recycle them properly. Many partners contribute to the success of the program.
The Government of Canada has committed $92 million over four years to the Retire Your Ride program to help Canadians recycle their older, higher polluting vehicles and make sustainable transportation choices, leading to reduced air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
Summerhill Impact is the National program delivery agent for Retire Your Ride and has partnered with the following network of regional delivery agents across Canada to execute the program nationally. The New Brunswick Lung Association is a health charity committed to the improvement of respiratory health, including a focus on indoor and outdoor air quality. The Association operates outreach programs, including its Vehicle Scrappage Program, that translates complicated environmental issues into easy-to-understand language and easy-to-do actions for people where they work, live, and play. The Association will be continuing the operation of its Vehicle Scrappage Program in New Brunswick, and is working in conjunction with the Prince Edward Island Lung Association to expand the program to PEI.

In 2007 the Lung Association created a department of Environmental Initiatives to deal with the impacts that air quality has on lung health. One key focus area of the new department include vehicle emissions reduction strategies. The Newfoundland and Labrador Lung Association is working in collaboration with the Conservation Corps on the Retire Your Ride project throughout the province on Newfoundland and Labrador.

SES’s current action areas include sustainable energy and climate solutions, water protection, resource conservation, biodiversity preservation, and reduction of toxic substances.
SES will be working with SWRC (Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council) to deliver Retire Your Ride. SWRC is a non-profit organization striving to promote waste reduction to all sectors of Saskatchewan.

The Alberta Automotive Recyclers and Dismantlers Association (AARDA) is a group of 50+ businesses in Alberta dedicated to protecting our resources by recycling parts from 2008 and older damaged vehicles. Not only does this make repairs more affordable, it saves the energy required to manufacture new parts. The AARDA also protects the environment when processing End of Life Vehicles by removing and arranging for the disposal of toxic substances such as mercury, fluids (oils, gas, refrigerants) and tires before the steel bodies are shredded and melted back to reusable steel.
