Reduce Your Environmental Impact

-

There are some places in Canada where transit is not available and a car is a necessity. By donating your 1995 or older vehicle and purchasing a 2004 or newer model, you are:
- Producing up to 19 times less smog-forming emissions than previously
- No longer included in the "one-quarter of the vehicles driven by Canadians who are responsible for half of the smog" category
- Ensuring that the oil, gasoline, refrigerants, mercury switches and tires from your retired vehicle do not end up in our landfills, air or water supply

-

Canada is not the ideal place to ride a bike all year long. By donating your 1995 or older vehicle, using your bicycle on warmer days and taking transit on the colder ones, you are:
- Saving between $525-$900 per month on vehicle operating costs
- Losing up to 13 lbs your first year by riding your bike
- Reducing smog-forming emissions

-

You may be in a situation where you live in an urban centre, walk to work and get around by transit, but still need a car for a few hours each week. By donating your 1995 or older vehicle and enrolling in a Car Share membership or renting a car, you could:
- Always drive a new, well-maintained, potentially more fuel-efficient vehicle
- Stop worrying about daily parking
- Help to decrease over 1 tonne of CO2 emissions per year

-

If you live in an urban centre where transit is available, by donating your 1995 or older vehicle and buying a monthly transit pass, you could:
- Save between $525 and $900 per month on vehicle operating costs
- Receive a tax credit
- Effectively take 40 vehicles off the road during rush hour, save 70,000 litres of fuel and reduce smog-forming pollutants by nine tonnes a year by taking a single bus ride
